We provide advanced spinal correction and chiropractic adjustments utilizing state of the art chiropractic techniques. Never in the history of chiropractic care have chiropractors been able to provide the level of help and expertise that is available today. Many of the newest chiropractic techniques are actually safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before. As a chiropractor who cares about utilizing the most advanced chiropractic techniques, Dr. Darrell Johnson has years of training, expertise and experience in helping patients get pain relief for back pain, neck pain, headaches, and other related conditions originating from the spine. He uses both hands-on and instrument-assisted spinal manipulative therapy, as well as Cox Flexion-Distraction technique for disc problems, and employs deep tissue trigger point massage techniques for sore muscles filled with tension. As well, the clinic utilizes ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, traction, and aquamassage to address soft-tissue pain and inflammation. Chiropractic care under a trained professional can even be used to prevent injuries and help you achieve total health or wellness.
We believe that the muscles that move and protect our bodies, are just as important as the bones to which they attach in our marvelous biomechanical machines. At Union County Chiropractic Clinic, our licensed massage therapist provides an array of techniques ranging from relaxation massage to deep tissue, and specializes in pain relief. Trigger points develop as a result of muscular injuries, strains and trauma. Additionally, structural imbalances, improper body mechanics, poor nutrition and mental or emotional stress are all factors. When muscle fibers, fascia, ligaments or tendons become weakened, overstretched or inflamed, tiny tears in the associated soft tissue can occur. As the tissue heals it contracts, becoming twisted and knotted. These knotted fibers restrict the fresh blood supply needed by the muscle cells. In addition there is often a shortening of the muscle fiber to protect itself from further injury. In effect, the muscle learns to avoid pain and guards against it by limiting its movement. This results in a loss of range of motion of the joint and the probability that the muscle and associated structures will develop trigger points. Our skeletal muscle forms the single largest organ of the human body and accounts for at least 40% of our body weight. Myofascial trigger points can develop in any of our more than 200 paired muscles, and massage therapy can help relieve the pain you feel in them. Appointments at Union County Chiropractic Clinic are available on Mondays from 8-4, (other dates and times by request), and are available in 30 minute ($40), 60 minute ($60), or 90 minute ($90) sessions. It is also not necessary to be a chiropractic patient at the clinic to receive massage therapy. In addition, we always offer a new patient discount of $10 off a one hour massage on your first visit, allowing you to experience a full hour of the benefits of massage therapy for only $50.
At Union County Chiropractic Clinic, we teach our patients how to perform special "blueprint" exercises which can help strengthen and correct the irregularities in their body which may be causing pain. Many of these corrective exercises can actually be performed in the comfort of your own home to help improve the effectiveness of your chiropractic care and spinal correction plan. In addition to skeletal misalignment, you may be experiencing pain that is caused by muscles and connective tissues which are out of their proper place. Other types of pain such as back pain, neck pain, and headaches are caused by muscles and tissues that are being used improperly, causing injuries over time. In each case, targeted corrective exercises and stretches from our experienced chiropractor will help you feel good while also helping your body achieve balance and health.
Many of our patients come to see our chiropractor to address a specific pain symptom such as back pain, neck pain or headaches. While our chiropractor will address each patient's specific condition with chiropractic care, we often find it helpful to "coach" our patients towards achieving a healthier lifestyle. For example, there may be certain activities that you should avoid or do differently to prevent yourself from unintentionally aggravating your particular health challenges. The goal of including lifestyle advice with a chiropractic care plan is to help each and every patient achieve the fulfilling and happy lifestyle they deserve, one that is full of the activities that are enjoyed most. We recognize that every single one of our patients is a whole person, and we use our expertise to help them reach total health and wellness.
